Letter from the Owner:
At Crow Canyon, we are a small, female and family-owned business. The safety of our products, and the families who use them, is our highest priority. Recently, questions were raised online regarding lead in a small number of older enamelware items from our Golden Rabbit business. These products, along with all the other products we sell, have been through rigorous lab testing by international, accredited organization Bureau Veritas which found them to be safe for food consumption, and approved for sale – including all US FDA Leachable Lead and Cadmium requirements, California Health and Safety Code requirements (the strictest standards in the country), and Prop 65 safety standards for food and drink use. Out of an abundance of caution, we have removed the items in question from sale while we conduct additional testing.
We understand how concerning this topic is, especially for families, and we are committed to complete transparency.
We will continue to share updates, including third-party lab results, as they become available.
If you have questions, please contact us at info@crowcanyonhome.com
Thank you for your trust.

WHAT TO KNOW // PRODUCT UPDATES AS OF March 26, 2026 DATE:
PRODUCTS IN QUESTION:
- The Dinosaur and Boy and Girl Bunny collections. The items in question involve specific decorative decals that differ from our core Crow Canyon product lines.
- All non-decal products are not affected, including Crow Canyon Home core products like Splatter, Vintage, Catalina, collaborations, Golden Rabbit Swirl, Marble and Coastal. We are conducting further independent testing with U.S.-based laboratories to further validate safety and ensure full compliance.
OUR SAFETY PROCEDURES:
- All Crow Canyon and Golden Rabbit products are tested by certified third-party laboratories before they ship. In addition, our manufacturing partners conduct ongoing quality checks on production batches.
- Our enamelware collections across Crow Canyon and Golden Rabbit meet all US FDA Leachable Lead and Cadmium requirements, California Health and Safety Code, Section 108860 (California Tableware Safety Law) and Prop 65 safety standards for food and drink use. Our products have consistently met and passed all applicable tableware safety standards globally for more than 48 years. These standards are based on leach testing, which measures whether any substances transfer into food – not surface detection alone.
NOT ALL TESTING METHODS ARE EQUAL:
-
At-home test kits can detect trace elements on surfaces and may produce false positives. Food safety is determined by certified laboratory testing that evaluates what, if anything, transfers into food under real-world conditions. As one of our independent testing partners at Lucky Enamel explains:
- “The safety of enamelware is not determined by surface detection, but by whether any materials transfer into food during use. Laboratory testing simulates real-world conditions—such as contact with acidic foods—and precisely measures what, if anything, may leach. This leachate level is the meaningful indicator of safety. Based on rigorous testing that meets industry standards, we are confident that Crow Canyon and Golden Rabbit products are safe for food and drink use.”
